Activities at the Ukraine shelter
Over the past month, our Serve the Gentle committee has organized several activities at the Ukrainian shelter. On November 7th, they played games with the children at the shelter, and on November 17th, they baked pepernoten together. In addition, on November 23rd they hosted a music bingo for all ages, including some incredible prizes. The activities were greatly appreciated and also incredibly enjoyable to organize.

Clothing Swap
During Climate Week, Serve the Green organized a Clothing Swap on November 10th and 14th on the Tilburg University campus. People could donate clothing they were no longer wearing, but was still in good condition. In return, they could take home items that others had donated. In this way, Serve the Green aimed to contribute to the fight against clothing waste. The goal of the clothing swap was certainly achieved: participants found some nice new pieces, and all leftover clothing that wasn’t swapped will be donated!

Night of the Profs
On November 18th, student party SAM organized the Night of the Profs. This annual event features professors from Tilburg University taking over the DJ booth at the Studio. Each year, the revenues from ticket sales go to a local charity, and this time the beneficiary was Serve the City Tilburg. The board had the honor of receiving the wonderful amount of €570, even higher than the estimated €555 announced during the night itself. We would like to thank SAM for their hard work, their trust in Serve the City Tilburg, and of course for the fantastic evening they put together!

Buddy project
Since this month, Serve the Grey has restarted the Buddy Project. The aim of this project is to match elderly people with students in order to reduce loneliness within both groups. To reach as many students as possible, the announcement was shared through Tilburg University’s Instagram. The first participants have signed up, so hopefully the first matches can be made soon!

Wandelen Tongerlose Hoef
On November 21st, Serve the Brave went for a walk with some clients at the Tongerlose Hoef. They supported them during the walk and had some enjoyable conversations. It was defenitely as a success from both sides. Hopefully many more walks will follow in the coming year!
