Making Easter centerpieces at Villa Maria

On April 1, Serve the Grey made Easter centerpieces at Villa Maria. Together with the elderly residents, they created lovely arrangements while enjoying a cup of coffee or tea. After the pieces were finished, the residents could place them in a nice spot, helping to get into the Easter spirit. Both the residents and the volunteers had a very enjoyable afternoon!

Collection Campaign for the animal shelter

On April 2, our Serve the Gentle volunteers were on the campus of Tilburg University for the second time to collect items for Dierenopvang Hart van Brabant. They gathered all kinds of things, ranging from empty toilet paper rolls to food and toys for the animals. All in all, it was a great success. To everyone who helped or donated, thank you!

Flow&Co Cheers for Charity Cantus

On April 8, the Flow&Co Cheers for Charity Cantus took place again, and just like last year, it was a great success. Together with our committee volunteers and study association Flow, we made it a wonderful evening. In addition, a great amount was raised for Serve the City Tilburg. We would like to thank study association Flow for the collaboration and hope for another edition next year.

Activities at the Ukraine Shelter

This month as well, Serve the Gentle organized great activities for the children at the Ukrainian shelter. For example, on April 1 they decorated Easter eggs, on April 20 they played on the Wii, and on April 12 they even organized a dance class. As always, the activities were a great success and will certainly continue next month!

Second Chance Market and Fashion4Free

On April 12, the Second Chance Market took place in Tilburg. A wide range of items were offered for free, giving them a second life. Serve the City Tilburg was present and helped Switch with setting up, taking down, and ensuring the event ran smoothly. We were able to make many people happy with the items. Of the 2.5 containers of donated goods, less than one container remained. All in all, it was definitely a successful day, and we would like to thank Switch for the opportunity to contribute!

Omroep Brabant

On April 20, Omroep Brabant came to take a look at Serve the City Tilburg. They spoke with the board and several volunteers, and also joined one of the activities. That afternoon, Serve the Grey was cooking with elderly people through the IKook program at Wijkcentrum De Baselaer. After a pleasant afternoon together with the volunteers and elderly participants, Omroep Brabant wrote a great article about Serve the City Tilburg, and a segment was even broadcast during their TV program Brabant Vandaag. We would like to sincerely thank Omroep Brabant for their interest in our organization and for the effort they put into this!

Dinner for the homeless with the Navigators

On April 29, we organized a dinner in collaboration with the Navigators student association Tilburg at Wijkcentrum Het Kruispunt for homeless people and anyone else in need. It was a wonderful evening where people could enjoy a good meal and connect with one another. We would like to thank Navigators Studentenvereniging Tilburg for the pleasant collaboration, and Wijkcentrum Het Kruispunt for their support and for allowing us to use their facilities.
