Board XIII:
Starting August 1st 2025, Board XIII was officially installed, and as of last month they started their tasks as board of Serve the City Tilburg. They are constituted as follows:
Anouk Kootstra – Chair
Daimy de Kreek – Vice Chair
Mirthe van Ballegooijen – Secretary
Anouk Meijer – Treasurer
Every board member will briefly introduce themselves below.

I am Anouk Kootstra, 22 years old, and this year I have the honor of being chair of Serve the City Tilburg. In addition of doing my board year, I am finishing up my Master’s in Strategic Management. As chair, I keep most external contacts and make sure that everything goes well within the organisation. In addition, I am responsible for the committee Serve the Gentle, that organises activities for those that do not have a home in Tilburg. This includes homeless people, refugees, or people that can not live at home due to other reasons.

My name is Daimy de Kreek (23) and this year I started my second year of the Bachelor’s in Psychology. This year I will be the vice chair of the 13th board of Serve the City Tilburg. I am mostly responsible for supporting the rest of my board, the acquisition, and the social media channels. Next to that, I am the coordinator of the committee Serve the Wisdom, that is committed to spread knowledge and awareness among several groups, and of our new committee in cooperation with our international volunteers, which is still being set up.

My name is Mirthe van Ballegooijen, I am 20 years old, and this year I will be the secretary of Serve the City Tilburg. Last year I finished my Bachelor’s in Dutch Law, and I have now started the extended master’s in labour law and family law. As secretary, I am mainly responsible for keeping contacts with all our volunteers, answering emails and keeping the social media channels up to date. Additionally, I am the coordinator of the Serve the Grey committee, that focuses on organising activities for elderly.

I am Anouk Meijer (21) and this year I will be the treasurer. Last year I finished up my Bachelor’s in Psychology and this year I will put all my focus on Serve the City Tilburg, next to my side job. As treasurer I manage the cash flow of the organisation. I also coordinate the committee Serve the Brave, that is responsible for organising activities for people with a disability.
Tilburg University Cantus:
On September 1st, the Tilburg University Cantus (TUC) took place on the parking lot at Tilburg University. Because a lot of students earned their TUC-tickets through volunteering with Serve the City Tilburg, our whole board was invited to the VIP-deck. In addition, we received a beautiful flower bouquet from the TUC-board next to a donation that will follow later. For this, we want to thank the TUC-board in advance!
A lot of our volunteers of the past year were also present at the TUC. It was an incredibly fun evening! We look forward to the next edition of this collaboration.

Lunch and tour at La Trappe:
On Monday September 8th we went to La Trappe together with a group elderly of Foundation Met je Hart Goirle-Riel. There we were welcomed with a delicious lunch, after which we went on a very interesting tour of La Trappe. We want to thank La Trappe for this opportunity. Both the elderly and our volunteers enjoyed it a lot!

Walking with the elderly:
Since tuesday September 16th our weekly walks with the elderly of Boshuis de Wever started again. This means that from now on we will be present each tuesday 10.30-12.00 with several volunteers to walk with elderly and have a cup of coffee or tea afterwards.
