Activities at the Ukraine shelter
| On January 7th Serve the Gentle was present at the Ukraine shelter to play Wii games with the children there. They played several games, including Mario Kart. In addition, on January 30th our volunteers crafted placemats with children at a Ukraine shelter at a different location. The children were able to create their own drawings, which were then laminated by the volunteers. The children at both locations seemed to enjoy the activities a lot and both they and our volunteers had a very fun afternoon. |

New Years Concert of the Lions
Once again this year, the board of Serve the City Tilburg was invited to attend the New Year’s Concert of Lions Club Tilburg “Regte Heide.” This year’s theme was ‘Flexible work & poverty prevention: a toolkit for engaged employers’. The concert raised a wonderful amount of money, which will be invested in a collaboration with the Zero Poverty Lab to help employers support vulnerable employees. The board greatly enjoyed the concert and would like to warmly thank Lions Club Tilburg for the invitation!

Cooking at the Reyshoeve
On Tuesday, January 13, our volunteers of Serve the Grey were present at the Reyshoeve, a location of De Wever, to cook on one of the divisionsl They prepared a delicious pasta for the elderly residents, which everyone enjoyed together in the division’s living room. Everyone had a great time, so this activity is definitely worth repeating.
Cooking soup at Amarant
Last Wednesday, Serve the Brave made soup together with the clients at Amarant. Each client contributed in their own way, whether by washing or cutting vegetables, doing the dishes, cleaning up, or simply enjoying the freshly made soup. It was a very successful first edition, which will now return on a monthly basis.

Combi-Party
On Tuesday, January 27, Serve the City Tilburg organized the Combi Party together with Flow, Complex, INPUT, and Sapienta Ludenda. This year, it was a cantus held at Café De Boekanier with the theme ‘Gender Bender’. With this theme, participants could dress up as the opposite gender or as any gender they felt comfortable with. It was a very enjoyable evening and, once again, a great success.
